Cloudhealth platform allows you to manage your entire AWS environment at scale. This helps to streamline decision making with custom reports and dashboards, view detailed breakdowns for major spending areas, monitor usage and performance data, and build governance policies to automate daily operational tasks and improve security.

CloudHealth Agents
The CloudHealth Agent is a lightweight monitoring service for your cloud resources. It is based on the collected daemon. You can install the Agent on your cloud instances to gain system-wide visibility into CPU, file system, and memory utilization. If you have Docker, the Agent catalogues containers, and images as well. Once installed, the Agent takes snapshots at specific intervals and reports metrics to the CloudHealth platform every hour. The Agent pushes data from the instance to the CloudHealth endpoint over https. The data is in the form of a JSON file containing the aggregated disk I/O, filesystem, and memory metrics.
Operating System Support
The Agent supports these server operating systems.
- Ubuntu 12.04 and above
- RHEL 6.5 and above
- Amazon Linux 2014.09 via RPM or DEB packages
- Windows Server 2008 R2 and above.
Understand Agent Transmission Rates
The Agent sends a message every 5 min to signal that it is working. It also receives a command every 5 min to upgrade to a newer version. This conversation results in a transmission of 7 KB every 5 min.
Every hour, the Agent sends CPU, file system, and memory utilization statistics, which average around 17 KB of data transfer.
The amount of data transmitted every hour can be computed as follows:
(7 KB * 12) + 17 KB
= 96 KB + 17 KB
= 114 KB
The effective transmission rate of the Agent can then be calculated as follows:
114 KB / 3600 s = 0.031 KB/s
Who provides and supports the software – standard AWS toolset?
Our cost optimisation team supported by VMware support the SaaS-based Software tooling. The Snapshot is just a trial of the software to allow customers to see the benefits and potentially agree to allow CloudHealth to offer the service free of charge as part of the AWS Solution Provider Programme (Billing/cost optimisation services).
Where does our data go, etc?
The only data analysed is the metadata of the AWS platform no file/user/IAM data etc.. is recorded or removed. All Metrics are reviewed within UK AWS Data Centres and analysed for cost optimisation purposes only.
